Rent of individual safe deposit boxes
Urbo Bankas rents out safe deposit boxes with two locks. One key is held by the customer and one – by the bank. Both keys are used to unlock the safe deposit box.
The rented safe deposit box can be used by you and persons authorised by you.

To rent a safe deposit box, please present your ID card or passport.
If you wish to conclude a safe deposit box rent agreement on behalf of another person, you will be required to present a notarised power of attorney.

Safe deposit boxes are installed in a vault room of the bank, where your valuables will be kept safe 24/7.
The bank’s vault is equipped with a room where you can view the contents of the safe deposit box or add items to the box without being disturbed.

It is recommended to keep in a safe deposit box:
- Securities, ownership titles and other important documents;
- Jewellery, artwork;
- Cash and other important items.
It is forbidden to keep in a safe deposit box:
- Explosive, flammable, narcotic, psychotropic, toxic, radioactive, acidic, odorous or perishable substances.
- Firearms and ammunition, liquid metals, substances in pressure vessels and other substances which, because of their chemical or physical properties, may endanger human health, the environment or property.
- Valuables that are not owned by the customer must not be stored in the safe deposit box.
Fines apply for storing prohibited items in the safe deposit boxes.

Insurance
With travel insurance, you can avoid financial losses in case of emergency abroad, such as illness (including COVID-19), accidents, travel interruption, flight delays, loss of luggage or other important items, and in many other situations.
The minimum period of cover is 1 day and the maximum period is 1 year.

- Medical expenses incurred abroad (including COVID-19);
- Accidents;
- Failure to depart, travel interruption;
- Missed connection;
- Travel delay;
- Loss of travel documents;
- Luggage delay and/or loss;
- Personal civil liability;

Yes. If you choose insurance cover for medical expenses, you will also be covered in case of COVID-19.
Insurance will reimburse the following costs in case of COVID-19:
- Emergency medical treatment in a healthcare facility;
- Medicines prescribed by your doctor;
- Transport to and from a medical facility;
- Medical repatriation (transport home with a special vehicle);
- Transport home for the escorting person;
- Transporting unaccompanied minors under the age of 16 back home.
Insurance will not reimburse costs for:
- COVID-19 test when the test is negative;
- Antigen tests;
- Self-isolation.
- Insurance does not cover financial losses due to a missed trip.
This insurance cover is not valid for foreign nationals coming to Lithuania and purchasing insurance contracts in which the chosen territory is Lithuania or the Schengen area.

Personal insurance is a type of insurance that provides cover when an accident damages the insured person’s health or causes their death. It offers real financial support and help in case of health problems, housing adaptations and other unforeseen circumstances.

You can take out personal (accident) insurance for yourself and your family members. The insurance certificate can be purchased by persons with Lithuanian citizenship and/or permanently residing or working in Lithuania.
Scope of cover:
- Bone and joint injuries;
- Injuries to internal organs and soft tissues;
- Disability or death as a result of an accident;
- Assistance in case of injuries and infectious diseases.

The insurance cover is valid worldwide (except Ukraine, Belarus and Russia). Insurance is valid for 12 months*.
* Personal insurance takes effect on the 5th day of the following month.

- Compulsory motor insurance is an insurance for cars, trucks, buses, trolleybuses, motorcycles, scooters, trailers and other self-propelled machinery used on the road, covering the civil liability of the operators of the specified vehicles.
- Should you cause an accident and be found guilty or admit that you are at fault, the compulsory third-party liability insurance for drivers will pay compensation to the persons affected by the accident.
- The claim payment is not payable to the driver responsible for the damage (including damage to his/her vehicle and the property inside the vehicle).

The motor third-party liability insurance contract is concluded in the name of the owner of the vehicle (cars, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, buses, trailers, etc.) (an authorised person may conclude the contract in the name of the owner).
You can also take out insurance if you use the vehicle under a leasing contract.

- The Green Card provides insurance cover in other countries of the Green Card scheme;
- A frontier insurance contract is valid in EU countries, countries of the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

VAT refund
- If you live in the European Union (EU), you can’t use the VAT refund service within the EU.
- VAT can only be refunded to non-EU residents or to Community nationals permanently resident outside the European Union.
- Foreigners (non-EU residents) for purchases from EU countries – Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Italy, Spain, Finland and Norway – removed via Lithuania.

- The total amount spent on purchases (including VAT) at a store must be at least EUR 40.
- When leaving the country, the TAX FREE Form must be validated at the customs office not later than the end of the 3rd month following the month in which the goods were purchased.
- Goods must be purchased in stores with the Global Blue TAX FREE label (more than 2,000 stores in Lithuania). Ask for the TAX FREE Form and a purchase receipt.
- When you leave the European Union, you must show your purchases, receipts, and passport to customs officials who will stamp your TAX FREE Form.
- VAT can be collected in cash at the nearest Refund Office.
- As of 01/07/2022, all Lithuanian TAX FREE Forms, duly stamped by the customs, can be cashed in within 3 years and until the end of the current year, starting from the date of issue of the TAX FREE Form. From this date, TAX FREE Forms issued in the Lithuanian currency will not be paid.

At Urbo Bankas, foreign tourists (non-EU residents) can reclaim VAT on Global TAX FREE Forms for goods purchased in Latvia, Estonia, Italy, Spain, Poland, Finland and Norway.
TAX FREE Forms from these countries are payable in euros.

If you are leaving Lithuania by train or plane:
- Ask the customs officer to stamp your TAX FREE Form and then visit any other Refund Office.
If you are returning to Lithuania and you have a TAX FREE Form stamped with a customs stamp, you can get your VAT back at the following offices:
